Goldenpeak closes £375m fund to fuel growth of B2B services in the UK and Ireland

Today, we are delighted to announce the first and final close of our inaugural fund at £375 million. The formal fundraising process took just over 12 weeks from first conversation to close. Backed by leading global institutional investors, the fund will support ambitious mid-market B2B services companies in the UK and Ireland.

Goldenpeak has been co-founded by Mark Williams and Leon Gillespie, who together bring unrivalled market expertise to help entrepreneurial businesses optimise, internationalise and grow.

The firm sets itself apart through its approach to private equity–combining a wealth of experience with a culture of support, respect and collaboration to drive exceptional growth and returns.

Co-founder and managing partner, Mark Williams commented: “By partnering closely with founders and management teams, we aim to provide the strategic support and capital needed to unlock transformational growth. Our investment focus—typically £25–£75 million—allows us to back ambitious businesses generating £3–£15 million of EBITDA as they scale to their full potential.”

“Our goal is to be the private equity partner of choice for growth-oriented B2B services businesses in the UK and Ireland.”

Leon Gillespie, Founder & Managing Partner

Leon Gillespie, co-founder and managing partner, said: “Our goal is to be the private equity partner of choice for growth-oriented B2B services businesses in the UK and Ireland. We believe how we do things is as important as what we achieve. Building true partnerships enables us to engage openly with management teams, investors and advisors and ensures we deliver results with enduring value.”

The fund was heavily oversubscribed and includes prestigious endowment funds, family offices and institutional investors from both Europe and the US.

With Goldenpeak Fund I now closed, the firm is focusing on deal sourcing, execution and value acceleration. It will be looking for deals in Technical Services; Data and Information; Professional Services; Testing, Inspection and Certification; Governance Risk & Compliance; and Cyber Security, amongst others.

Goldenpeak was supported by Pacenote Capital as placement agent; Weil, Gotshal & Manges and Carey Olsen as legal counsel; and Langham Hall as fund administrator.
